Interim president and CEO Janet Davidson thanks NSHA staff and facilities across province for taking time to honour our veterans this Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is a time to recognize the many ways in which our veterans have contributed to the lives we lead and the freedoms we enjoy. It is a time to remember, a time to honour, and a time to hope for peace.
It’s sometimes easy to take our freedoms for granted, but our world is not free of conflict. We have always been proud of our role as a peace-loving nation and willing to stand up and fight with our allies when freedom is threatened.
Many proud Canadians continue to serve in the cause of global peace. Our thoughts are with them too as we gather at Remembrance Day events to remember and to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of our veterans.
Within Nova Scotia Health Authority, we honour veterans in a number of ways including services in several of our facilities. No matter where you are on Remembrance Day, we encourage you to take a moment to remember those who have served and sacrificed, and service members who continue to serve, and pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy today because of them.
Lest we forget,
Janet Davidson, OC
