Pictou County Health Authority, Colchester East Hants Health Authority and Cumberland Health Authority offer detoxification (withdrawal management) services through two inpatient units, one in Springhill and one in Pictou. Referrals can be made directly by phone by the individual or any concerned person.
To be eligible for admission, a candidate is to be:
- Intoxicated or in withdrawal
- Medically/psychiatrically manageable
- Voluntary
- Consenting
- Co-operative
