The
Pictou County Health Authority is responsible for delivering health
care services to the 48,000 residents of Pictou County as well as
regional programs to the larger population of northeastern Nova Scotia.
Services and programs are delivered through the Aberdeen Hospital in
New Glasgow, Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital in Pictou, Addiction
Services, Mental Health Services and Public Health Services. The PCHA
was legislated in January 2001 by the Government of Nova Scotia and is
one of nine health authorities in the province.
