Welcome to the Pictou County Health Authority

The Pictou County Health Authority is responsible for delivering health care services to the 46,000 residents of Pictou County as well as provincially accessible orthopedic surgery and pacemaker programs. We deliver this care through the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital in Pictou, Addiction Services, Continuing Care, Mental Health Services, Primary Health Care and Public Health Services. PCHA was legislated in January 2001 by the Government of Nova Scotia and is one of nine health authorities in the province.

Public Sector Compensation Disclosure - August 2012

Public Sector Compensation Disclosure Act

The Public Sector Compensation Disclosure Act, which came into effect in 2012, requires District Health Authorities and the IWK Health Centre to report the amount and name of individuals who receive compensation of $100,000 or more each year.

This legislation meets the public's desire for transparency, expands public sector reporting, and puts Nova Scotia in line with other provinces. The legislation can be read here: http://nslegislature.ca/legc/statutes/pubseccd.htm
